Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree and five years if professional research experience in the appropriate field; or a doctorate in the appropriate field and three years such experience Preferred Qualifications: Other relevant experience would include: • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biology, Neuroscience, or a related field.• Experience with developmental or aging model studies relevant to neurodegeneration, synaptic plasticity and cognitive behavioral studies.• Proficiency in handling biological datasets and epigenetic data.• In-depth knowledge and experience in endocannabinoids and their receptor functional studies, epigenetics, particularly in relation to alcohol use disorders.• Proficient in generating graphical output for data analysis, suitable for publication.• Demonstrated expertise in designing modern methods and tools, including prior experience with electrophysiological experiments focused on studying synaptic plasticity.• Strong skills and experience in statistical analysis.• Proven ability to plan and execute studies, securing external funding, including from NIH.• Outstanding skills in project planning, execution, and managing studies within tight timelines.• Excellent communication and organizational skills.• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Duties Description • Conduct in-depth analyses of synaptic plasticity, endocannabinoid system, transcriptomic, epigenetic, proteomic, and other studies in both healthy and disease states.• Execute rigorous and reproducible data analyses, presenting findings through clear graphics and comprehensive spreadsheet outputs.• Demonstrate autonomy by developing and leading projects involving diverse data analysis tasks.• Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges while formulating novel hypotheses to guide future funding opportunities.• Specialize in developing and analyzing endocannabinoids, transcriptomic, epigenetic, proteomic, and other studies, contributing valuable insights to both healthy and disease states.• Work on developing hypothesis-driven projects, strategically securing funding for future research endeavors.• Supervise and manage a team of technicians and postdoctoral-level scientists, ensuring alignment with current grant goals and fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.
