Job ID359198 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyResearch-Support Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9742S1 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin About the Job Plant Protein Innovation Center Manager Appointment: 100% Job code: 9742S1 - Professional and Administrative position (P&A) Title: Research Project Specialist 1 Working Title: Research Project Manager Program Area: Food Science Nutrition, PPIC, Prof. Ismail laboratory Office Location: St. Paul Campus Supervisor: Prof. Pam Ismail, Professor, FScN Responsibilities - Oversee management of PPIC research projects, including, but not limited to, drafting of project proposals, budgets, research timelines, shipping materials, coordinating research progress, and delivering updates and final project reports (40%) - Oversee day-to-day laboratory operations including onboarding and training of new hires, ordering general lab supplies, ensuring lab safety protocols, and maintaining laboratory equipment and SOPs (15%) - Manage and conduct member relations and communications in a timely, helpful, and personable fashion (15%) - Directly supervise and oversee research progress of junior researchers (10%) - Assist in planning and executing annual meetings, workshops, training programs, and center visits (10%) - Collaborate with industry partners, and university centers such as pilot plant, sensory center, teaching kitchen, imaging center, etc. to meet research needs and timelines (5%) - Collaborate with PPIC's Assistant Director to draft RFPs in line with the PPIC's priorities, and formulate evaluation rubrics (5%) Program/Unit Description Position will be in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, CFANS, University of Minnesota under the supervision of Dr. Pam Ismail.
