　　Position Summary/Description:

　　This Project Manager position will manage cancer-related, population science projects of the federally and/or privately funded portfolio for Lineberger Member Dr. Leah Frerichs, Associate Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In this study management role, the position will serve as the lead contact in the communication and coordination of/among internal study team members, external collaborating partners, and assure the timely implementation of research activities. Day-to-day project-related operations include establishing study and grant application timelines, developing grant and project budget forecasting, managing project sub-contracts, and leading hiring and supervising project staff. This position will also take the lead on creating grant renewal and project report submissions for funders, develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with participants and research partners, lead design data curation, management, and analysis, and research meetings and retreats.

　　The Project Manager’s primary project will be an NCI -funded R01 grant to research the implementation of a mHealth intervention to improve colorectal cancer screening in rural community health centers in North Carolina. The specific duties will include managing IRB and research protocol approvals and amendments, serve as the lead contact to establish workflows and processes for study execution with clinical sites, developing and implementing processes for mailing Colon Cancer Screening Test ( FIT ) kits to participants, developing and implementing processes for navigating follow-up of abnormal tests, maintain adequate study supplies, and supervision of a research assistant for data collection and analysis.

　　The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is a National Cancer Institute ( NCI )-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.

　　Education and Experience:

　　Strong financial management experience that may include forecasting expenses, developing and managing research budgets, and monitoring budget expenditures.

　　A master’s degree in public health, or related, area.
