The Center for Immersive Learning and Digital Innovation at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Research Program Coordinator to facilitate, manage, and support research activities within the center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research methodologies, project coordination, and a passion for immersive learning and digital innovation.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Research Management
Coordinate research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
Assist in the development of research protocols, methodologies, and data collection instruments.
Monitor project progress, identify challenges, and implement solutions to ensure successful outcomes.
Data Collection & Analysis
Oversee data collection processes, including participant recruitment, data entry, and quality assurance.
Analyze research data using appropriate statistical methods and software tools.
Prepare research reports, summaries, and presentations for stakeholders and publications.
Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, faculty, and external partners to support research initiatives.
Facilitate communication among team members, ensuring clarity, transparency, and alignment of goals.
Organize and participate in meetings, workshops, and conferences related to research activities.
Project Coordination
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Coordinate logistics for research activities, including meetings, travel, and equipment needs.
Ensure compliance with ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
Technology & Innovation
Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in immersive learning and digital innovation.
Identify opportunities for research collaborations, funding opportunities, and partnerships.
Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions and best practices.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong knowledge of research methodologies, data analysis techniques, and statistical tools.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Education, Psychology, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a related field.
1 year experience in research coordination, project management, or a related role.
Familiarity with immersive technologies, digital platforms, and educational innovation is desirable.
Experience with grant writing, funding applications, and research ethics is a plus.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers.
