  Job Description Summary

  The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health seeks to hire a Research Coordinator B to support a growing research portfolio related to substance use-related health disparities and improving equitable access to harm reduction services and substance use treatment in both health system and community-based settings. The scope of the work involves research participants, interaction with national advocacy, research, and professional society organizations, and interaction with local community organizations and health systems.

  Job Responsibilities

  The Research Coordinator B will be a vital member of multidisciplinary teams which include biostatisticians, analysts, and qualitative scientists, as well as grant administrative and project management support. The position will work closely with community partners in this role. The role will be assisting with both quantitative and qualitative research projects (from the implementation of these studies to their analysis and manuscript writing), patient research engagement, community liaison support, and regulatory support (with applications to the IRB). The position is contingent upon future grant funding.

  Day to Day Responsibilities:

  Data and project management, coordination, and analysis

  Create and maintain organized research project portfolio documents with project tracking

  Work independently to produce tables, charts, graphs, and outlines for manuscript and grant preparation from sources including analyst reports, publicly available data, and literature searches

  Organize data storage and management for qualitative studies

  Analysis of existing qualitative data and manuscript writing (drafting independently and integrating feedback from study team)

  Informal internal team operations by developing data visualizations for managing project progress and identifying barriers to progress.

  Active and collaborative participation in lab and team meetings and project planning sessions

  Human subject research support

  Assist with submitting IRB applications, modifications, and renewals

  Conduct independent literature searches and produce summaries to guide project development based on ongoing research findings and future steps

  Assist with compliance efforts for sponsoring entities

  Draft research and quality assurance protocols for a variety of data collection efforts, that meet research objectives and ensure compliance

  Contribute to quality assurance checks and ongoing monitoring

  Assist with screening and enrollment of patients for clinical and qualitative studies, including by communicating the study protocol, conducting verbal and written informed consent to potential subjects, and scheduling for research activities.

  Oversee, maintain and complete data collection and entry for an extensive computerized subject database.

  Maintain secure patient database/medical chart abstraction from data available in medical records.

  Patient and stakeholder engagement

  Supporting the relationship with community-based partners

  Work professionally with representatives from national advocacy and professional organizations in collaborative research efforts

  Fielding external outreach requests to the research team

  Other administrative duties as needed.

  Required Qualification:

  Bachelor’s degree in health sciences-related area and 2 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required, Master’s degree preferred.

  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  Understanding of data analysis and their applications to research

  Intermediate or higher-level skills of MS Office suite

  Independent time management skills, including ability to prioritize workload

  Excellent ability to work in teams

  Desired Skills:

  Prior professional or community experience in racial disparities/social determinants of health or addiction-related research

  Experience with grant writing or management

  Experience with qualitative methods

  Experience with interacting or managing relationships with a variety of community partners

  $43,919.00 - $58,059.00 Annual Rate

  Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
