Overview
The Research Assistant I will work with people and with databases.The incumbent is responsible forconducting eligibility screenings and evaluations, participating in recruitment events and assisting the development of innovative recruitment strategies. Responsibilities also include assisting research participants with the registration process; and maintaining the participant database for accurate follow-up and completion. This position requires availability for weekends and late afternoons to complete events and recruitment appointments.
Responsibilities
Enter data into databases and monitor for trends that inform recruitment.
Obtain and track medical records for research subjects.
Assist Senior Research Coordinator with writing up procedure sheets for research protocols along with developing data sheets, and other research related forms.
Conduct telephone screening interviews to determine research participant eligibility and track eligibility data.
Assist with collection of all study related data (e.g., participant registration, saliva collection, etc.)
Assist Research Coordinator or Tester with subject recruitment activities (e.g., mailings, posting fliers, follow-up phone calls, contacting outside agencies, etc.). Distribute promotional and advertising materials for study to clinic, potential participants, and community organizations.
Assist with creating and presenting information to staff, community partners, and potential participants.
Assist with developing databases and tracking data.
Assist with maintaining relationships with collaborating sites in which the study will be conducted.
Assist with the development and coordination of recruitment events for the study. Assist with the set-up/breakdown of recruitment events and community out- reach events.
Assist with home visits, onsite appointments, and telehealth visits for recruitment purposes.
Attend monthly and weekly meetings with internal SPARK team,Research and Education for Autism in Children (http://www.kennedykrieger.org/patient-care/patient-care-centers/center-autism-and-related-disorders/research-initiatives/reach) (REACH) team, and grant site staff.
Establish and maintain connection to minority and underrepresented populations in the local and surrounding area.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree is required.
Master’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
This is an entry level position; however, related research experience (eligibility screening, data management) is preferred.
Experience working with individuals with autism preferred.
