We are seeking a temporary casual Research Assistant who will assist with data collection and data entry for the research study. Data collection will include collecting in-person self-reported data and lab samples (sweat patches) with older women throughout Maryland. The position also includes responses and monitoring of the study phone and email and responding back to inquiries. The research assistant will work in tandem with the research coordinator and research nurses on the study and will be expected to attend bimonthly team meetings.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain and complete protocol specific patient records and Case Report Forms (CRF).
Maintain a good working knowledge of all assigned protocols.
Maintain confidential records of required source documentation on each assigned research subject on protocol.
Control quality of source documentation and research integrity.
Maintain specimen logs and coordinate laboratory specimen processing and handling with appropriate lab supervisors.
Participate in other research initiatives as workload allows.
Willingness to use personal vehicle for recruitment off site.
Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Research Coordinator and Sponsored Projects Manager or the PI of the project.
Act as interventionist and provides treatment for study participants.
Follow all study IRB approved protocols and procedures.
Transportation is necessary.
Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to work with populations across ages, sexual orientations, socio-economic circumstances.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required as is attention to detail and the ability to complete multiple tasks on a timely basis.
HIPAA and Research Compliance certification training relevant to human subjects’ research and other JHU classes as required.
Interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with Principal Investigator, Senior Research Program Coordinator, and other staff members and research participants.
Ability to maintain meticulous records.
Ability to work well with others to solve problems.
Ability to maintain participant confidentiality.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
Additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
