  The Role: Research Analyst, Power & Renewables

  The Team:

  China power and renewables research and analytics team sits under Gas, Power and Climate Solutions Division, delivering in-depth power market fundamentals analysis, long-term outlooks, market insights, power market reform tracking and analysis, pricing and market mechanisms tracking, green procurement mechanisms and other relevant topics that serve the interest of worldwide companies leading the energy transition.

  The Impact:

  To expand the S&P Global power and renewables coverage by establishing a much more timely market spotlights to clients who care about market dynamics, transactional deals and short-term outlooks, as part of the cross-business line Global Power & Renewables offering.

  What’s in it for you:

  S&P Global Commodity Insights is looking to expand its China power and renewables practice and is seeking a high-caliber analyst to join our fast-growing team in Asia. This Research Analyst will be an important member of our China power and renewable research team, working closely with research and consulting teams in the region and globally to generate timely insights and write ups on market dynamics and industry trends.

  Responsibilities:

  Help team in conducting desktop research of mainland China’s energy transition, power, renewables, and carbon market developments.

  Generate timely in-house insights and write ups on market dynamics, policy releases and industry trend, with collective analysis from the broader team.

  Work closely with colleagues for the accurate and timely delivery of regular client-facing publications as well as to address potential related questions from clients.

  Support regional analysts as required for quantitative analysis and report writing.

  What We’re Looking For:

  A graduate degree in economics, public policy, business analytics, business administration, science, business communications or other relevant field.

  A strong interest in the energy sector and climate change, full-time working experiences in relevant field is a plus.

  Aptitude for business writings, communications, and analysis.

  Strong team players with keen attention to news and changes.

  Excellent writing skills and proficiency with Word and PowerPoint.

  Excellent English and Chinese communication (reading / writing / speaking) skills.
