BSD BMD - Rebay Lab
About the Department
The Rebay Lab uses Drosophila as a genetically tractable model system tostudy how cell fates are specified and organized into functional tissuesand organs. Our experimental approach is multidisciplinary, andincorporates molecular genetics, genomics, quantitative imaging, biochemistry, and mathematical modeling. Current projects are focused ontranscriptional networks and cellular networks that regulate cell fatetransitions and on the signaling mechanisms and tissue-levelbiomechanical properties that drive morphogenesis. Because the molecularnetworks we study are conserved all the way to humans, our work hasdirect relevance to human development and disease.
