Job Description:
The mission of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement within the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC) is to serve the state of Florida as an internationally recognized institute of clinical, educational, and research excellence dedicated to improving the quality of human life through prevention, control, and cure of cancer. The mission of OneFlorida+ Clinical Research Consortium is to provide a research and data infrastructure to support the conduct of stakeholder-engaged pragmatic clinical trials, comparative effectiveness research, and implementation science studies.
This position will spend 50% time evaluating the community outreach efforts within the UFHCC and 50% time evaluating the research and data efforts for OneFlorida+.
This position oversees the evaluation of all clinical, research and community-based initiatives conducted by the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) at the UFHCC and all research and data initiatives within OneFlorida+, working with various other stakeholders, such as the UF Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) Biomedical Informatics (BMI) program and the UFHCC’s Cancer Informatics Shared Resource (CISR), that provide data and informatics support to the COE and OneFlorida+. As the Program Evaluator, the individual will be responsible for designing and conducting program evaluations for various units within the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement and for OneFlorida+. Working closely with unit leadership and stakeholders, the Evaluator will assess the effectiveness and impact UFHCC COE initiatives and OneFlorida+. Primary job duties will include development of an evaluation plan, identification of key performance indicators and stakeholder-informed measures, creating regular reports to inform programmatic design and implementation, comparing findings to relevant data (e.g., catchment area cancer trends, national research trends and priorities), and making recommendations for improvement.
Design, Conduct, and Direct Program Evaluation Activities
Oversee the design of evaluation models to include the development of data collection instruments, data collection processes, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and dissemination of evaluation reports to implement program improvements.
Design methods to effectively and accurately measure the impact of activities of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, UFHealth Cancer Center and OneFlorida+.
Assist with the development of logic models to support the evaluation.
Design and implement program evaluation plans that align with UFHCC strategic objectives and priorities and with OneFlorida+ and PCORnet strategic objectives and priorities.
Assists in formulating evaluation objectives and defining the scope, methodologies, and areas to be evaluated; provides consultation and technical advice on evaluation
Collect and analyze data from multiple sources, including clinical and research registries, publicly available census and health data sets, program data collection tools, surveys, interviews, and focus groups •
Develop surveys to assess the health of community members across the UFHCC Catchment area and to assess research experience with accessing resources of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement and OneFlorida+
Collaborate with data analysts to analyze data and identify trends and patterns related to the UFHCC catchment area and Florida, as well as larger research trends
Conduct formative, ongoing, and summative evaluations of COE programs.
Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in data collection procedures.
Monitor and Inform Program Activities
Formulate and monitor long-range objectives, priorities, and initiatives
Develop recommendations for operational improvement based on evaluation findings
Monitor implementation of initiatives to ensure that goals are being met
Coordinates, plans, develops, conducts, monitors, and analyzes initiatives to include interpreting results,
Assist in the development of new programs by providing expert guidance on evaluation
methodologies
Develop policies and procedures used in conducting and administering evaluation activities;.
May participate in proposal writing and coordination for external funds
Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to interpret evaluation findings
Prepare reports on outcomes and impact of initiatives
Writes technical papers/reports and prepares standards and specifications for process, short- and long-term output, and outcome measures.
Communicate evaluation results to stakeholders, program managers, and leadership •
Collaborates with the Cancer Informatics Shared Resource (CISR) and Cancer Center Program Areas to coordinate formative and summative outcomes.
Collaborate with the UF CTSI Biomedical Informatics Program related to data initiatives in OneFlorida+
Collaborates with external partners, including other NCI Cancer Centers and PCORnet, to inform evaluation priorities, methods, and dissemination opportunities
Keep up-to-date with the latest evaluation techniques and best practices, informed by the disparities
Prepare and provide presentations for professional audiences, governmental entities, and other stakeholders; communications results through conference presentations, scientific publications, and/or project reports.
Expected Salary:
$95,000 - $120,000
Minimum Requirements:
PhD in behavioral or social sciences with relevant training in program evaluation; degree in biostatistics with relevant training in program evaluation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of experience required in a comparable role within a challenging academic or research setting.
Proficient in both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, with the capability to synthesize data into meaningful reports for presentation to leadership groups and local government agencies.

Strong interpersonal skills essential for effectively meeting the needs of diverse collaborators.
Previous experience working with diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and educational populations.
