Position Summary:
This role will be responsible for driving improvements in the efficiency, reliability, and compliance of turbomachinery, gas-fired turbines, centrifugal compressors, and gas-fired turbine generators for Gathering and Processing (G&P). This position will be based out of Vernal, Utah.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a G&P subject matter expert on turbomachinery and gas-fired turbines.
Supports the evaluation of the scope and timing of preventative maintenance work based on a
thorough assessment using turbine/compressor analysis equipment, vibration equipment, and borescopes.
Supports operation and maintenance of plant systems, including gas compression
equipment, control systems, auxiliary support systems, and ancillary equipment. Maintains
accurate records of all turbine/compressor analysis
Ensure safe, compliant, and cost effective operation of G&P turbomachinery assets.
Provides condition-based corrective action recommendations to resolve operational
problems on gas compression equipment and works directly with location personnel to
resolve ancillary plant equipment issues.
Provides technical assistance in the operations and maintenance of plant equipment and
provides training on equipment operations and maintenance policies and procedures.
Supports Project Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance with the installation and commissioning of new equipment in accordance with company standards.
Assists in equipment failure analysis, development of standard practices, and
procedures.
Calibrates and maintains analytical equipment.
Must be comfortable working with remote supervision.
Travel is required and may include out-of-town nights and weekend travel.
Education and Experience:
Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver's license
Minimum of 5 years of experience with rotating machinery repair and/or
machinery diagnostics, with a strong emphasis on Solar Turbines.
Thorough understanding of the mechanical aspects of gas compression equipment and
their support systems.
Skills:
Excellent planning and organizational skills. Must be able to prioritize assignments
according to business needs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills – proven ability to produce clear, concise
written reports, discuss and review, and present technical information.
Experience with engine/compressor condition monitoring systems.
Experience with low/medium voltage electrical components and troubleshooting.
Experience with PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated ability to investigate and troubleshoot vibration problems, with an
understanding of spectral analysis.
Demonstrated experience in using electronic databases as well as storage and archival of
electronic data.
Strong understanding of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint computer programs along with
proprietary analyzer software.
