Rehabilitation SpecialistJM Murray RS position functions as a mental health program specialist. Seeking a highly-motivated, creative, reliable staff with excellent communication and organizational skills to promote and develop community volunteer opportunities for individuals with mental health disabilities. Develop employment plans and assess volunteers to determine employment readiness. Provide counseling, program planning, job specific training, crisis intervention, and advocacy, on and off the job site. The ability to work independently and apply sound judgement is a must.Part-time; 19 hours/weekMonday-Friday; No nights/No weekendsPayrate $22.00/hourResponsibilities:•Maintains a caseload of individuals served, meeting with them routinely and monitoring their progress, addressing concerns as needed.•Conducts informal presentations at area agencies. Coordinates and conducts groups and classes based on interests and needs of individuals. Develops and facilitates self-empowerment groups.•Works cooperatively with other involved agencies to ensure that needed support services are available•Completes appropriate and timely documentation in each individual case file including but not limited to: notes, referrals, follow-up, correspondence•Performs clerical duties necessary to maintain accurate records and service operations including but not limited to filing, copying, computer entry•Attends all required and requested training and meetings, and maintains certifications for required services training according to current regulatory requirements (OMH-HCBS)Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in vocational services, disabilities services, business, personnel management, mental health or social services counseling requiredOne year of experience in similar fields of study and work required.Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable, insured vehicle required.
