FTE: 0.800000 Shift: Shift 1 Job Summary: The NurseSpecialist-Wound/Ostomy is a clinical nurse accountable for themanagement of patients with wound, ostomy and continence (WOC) needs inthe inpatient setting. Serves in the role as clinician, consultant andeducator. Provides leadership and direction for coordination andimprovement of WOC care at Froedtert Hospital, including development ofpolicies and procedures, guidelines, standards of care and research.Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Experience as a WON/WOCNis preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Bachelor\'s degree in Nursing isrequired. Master\'s degree in Nursing is preferred.LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered NurseLicense or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state inthe NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON)through the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board(WOCNCB) or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) is requiredwith 12 months of hire or transfer into the position. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 3 months of hire.
