Job Overview
The Vascular Access Nurse provides critical support for all vascular accessneeds of inpatient and outpatient populations by vascular access assessment,planning, placement, and care for patients as assigned. Utilizing yourexpert nursing skills, the Vascular Access Nurse will insert peripheral andultrasound guided IVs, manage and monitor vascular access devices to preventinfections, and continuously improve staff competencies related to line careand maintenance. This position provides an opportunity to utilize yourspecialized vascular access knowledge to ensure the highest quality care forour pediatric patients.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)Experience: Two (2) years of nursing experience and proficient withperipheral IV insertion and care.Equivalency: Associated Degree in Nursing (ADN) in addition to four(4) years of direct clinical nursing experiences with peripheral IVinsertion and care, may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree and two(2) years of experience.Certification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with atleast 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire; PALS requiredwithin six months of hire.Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.This position may require a BLS certification from the American HeartAssociation.
