JOB REQUIREMENTS: Overview This position has no weekend or holiday work!and you will be working with a multidisciplinary team! Providescompassionate, culturally sensitive, holistic nursing care to patientsin a clinical setting, supporting the Mercyhealth nursing mission,practice values and strategic plan. May include variable shifts,weekends, holiday and/or on-call hours. Performs other duties asassigned including floating to various units based on identified needsand clinical competency. Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing processand critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary teammembers in caring for patients. Performs assessments, planning,intervention and evaluation of care Administers prescribed medicationsand treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policiesand procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act asrequired by care setting. Ensures all documentation is accurate andcomprehensive in accordance with the established standards of care fordocumentation at the system and entity levels. Develops initiates andexecutes a patient plan of care according to the patientasindividualized needs, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospitalpolicy. Utilizes resources available to teach and support patient andfamily education. Provides education to the appropriate level ofunderstanding. Participates in department or unit performanceimprovement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizesclinical expertise & guidance to other units/departments in support ofthe patientas longitudinal plan of care. Acts to resolve systemsbreakdowns and engages self and others in providing solutions Utilizescritical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience,manages complex situations and delegates to other staff appropriately.Escalates to the appropriate chain of command as needed. Positivelyinfluences the professional and organizational environments and sharedgovernance. Engages in personal development and supports system-entityopportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing orrevising evidence based practice guidelines. Supports and participatesin peer review and peer feedback opportunities. Participates in theprofessional nursing continuum Clinic and Ambulatory RNas will maintaintimely flow of patients, in addition to responding to telephone callsand performs telephone triage of patients. Education and ExperienceGraduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN or upon hire BSNcompletion agreement for enrollment in an accredited BSN CompletionProgram May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify(per department guidelines).
