  Job Overview

  Provides Family-Centered Care as demonstrated byrecognizing the patient,family and/or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate andcoordinated care based on respect for patient's preferences, values, andneeds. Assumes active role in clinical education of patients, families andstaff. Functions effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams,fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-makingto achieve quality patient care. Integrates best current evidence withclinical expertise for delivery of optimal health care. Uses data to monitorthe outcomes of care processes and uses improvement methods to test changes tocontinuously improve the quality and safety of health care systems. Minimizesrisk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness andindividual performance. Uses information and technology to communicate,manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making. Serves asan agent of change within the organization, as demonstrated by one of thefollowing; involved in unit and/or organizational activities,professional development activities, maintain Magnet recognizedcertification, member of a professional organization and/ or activeparticipant in community advocacy or volunteer activities.The Labor and Delivery department at the Colorado Fetal Care Center (CFCC)at Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) offers cares for perinatal carefor expecting mothers with almost any fetal condition, regardless of howrare or critical. Located on the Anschutz Medical Campus, ours is one of thelargest and most technologically advanced fetal care centers in the country.Our talented team of specialized MDs, Anesthesiologists, RNs, surgicaltechnicians and sonographers are highly trained to provide a deep level ofexperience and expertise for a vast array of rare and complex conditions. As anurse on our team, you will collaborate regularly with maternal fetalmedicine specialists and neonatologists. Families cared for in the ColoradoFetal Care Center, who seek our expertise in congenital condit ons and fetalanomalies, often transition to the NICU for care after birth, providingteam members with unique opportunities to provide coordinated care to familiesfacing rare diagnoses such as congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH),bladder outlet obstruction, twin-to-twin transfusion and myelomeningocele.Specialized interventions provided in our NICU include Extracorporeal MembraneOxygenation (ECMO), therapeutic hypothermia, and inhaled nitric oxide.How to Choose a Fetal Center:Patient Stories:MMC:CDH:

  Qualifications

  EDUCATION - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).EXPERIENCE - One year nursing experience.
