TheRN, Health Informatics serves as a specialist in the implementation ofautomated clinical applications including one or all the followingfunctional areas: Pharmacy, Clinical reminders, Consults, Laboratory,TIU, OE/RR, Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) applications, and/or othersas determined appropriate. The RN Health Informatics links theobjectives and functionality of interrelated clinical and administrativeautomated applications to the operation of the clinical services and theMedical Center. These software application packages automate clinicalfunctions across multiple service lines, including order entry/resultsreporting, consults, clinical reminders, health summary, and patientcost accounting modules. The incumbent must have an informatics degree,certification or 2-3 year informatics experience. This position servesas a health care professional who uses that knowledge to influence andadapt IT systems to drive management of the health system towardeffectiveness and efficiency. You will perform workflow assessment andoptimization in clinical, administrative, educational, and researchdomains, in addition to adapting software controls to existing workflow.You are a primary source for leadership when mission criticalupdates/problems are identified at the facility, regional, or nationallevels, and serve as a subject matter expert for new technologyassessment and usability.
