  Title:Registered Nurse - ER

  Location:Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center – Aurora, CO

  Job Summary:

  Vighter is seeking ER Registered Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team and make a significant impact on the well-being of the veteran community served by the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. We are seeking highly skilled and compassionate professionals to provide exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a collaborative team, dedicated to advancing patient health.

  Reports to:

  Project Manager

  Principle Accountabilities:

  Provide comprehensive emergency nursing services within the professional scope of practice for a variety of medical/surgical diagnoses.

  Administer oxygen, IV fluids, blood transfusions, and prescribed medications in accordance with VA policy.

  Observe and assess patients’ clinical condition, recognize, and promptly report significant changes indicative of complications

  Initiate resuscitative measures in emergency situations

  Operate and monitor specialized equipment including, but not limited to oxygen, cardiorespiratory monitors, hypothermia units, various types of suction apparatus and infusion equipment

  Prepare patients for surgical and/or diagnostic procedures and assist with procedures as necessary

  Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee’s capabilities and job requirements.

  Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.

  Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.

  Identifies and records signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.

  Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.

  Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload.

  Demonstrates proven success in stressful environments.

  Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.

  Monitors reconciliation of financial transactions and ensures contract charges are applied uniformly.

  Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies

  Adheres to strict personal protective equipment guidelines as necessary and/or directed

  Other duties and projects as assigned

  Qualifications:

  Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any US state or territory.

  Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program

  Basic Life Support/BLS (AHA or ARC)

  Advanced Cardiac Life Support/ACLS (AHA or ARC)

  Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  United States Citizenship.

  Experience:

  2+ years of relevant experience.
