Description:
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Registered Nurse plans and provides professional nursing care to the Cardiac Rehab participant from referral to discharge. He/she coordinates the care and education of participant and family with the other members of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team, and collaborates with the attending physician and/or Cardiologist. The Cardiac Rehabilitation RN is responsible for the patients and the ongoing operation of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II, III, and IV programs at MercyOne Newton Medical Center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Understands and is able to apply nursing process while meeting established AACVPR guidelines in an outpatient Cardiac program.
Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English.
This RN is skilled in meeting the needs of the medically complex adult and geriatric participant.
Possesses knowledge and understanding of cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation of this patient group.
Operates a computer effectively.
Obtains nursing Continuing Education Units appropriate to clinical setting.
Maintains BCLS Certification at the Health Care Provider level.
Maintains ACLS Certification.
EDUCATION: RN from accredited school of nursing. B.S. degree in nursing or related field preferred. Certification in Cardiac Rehabilitation is ideal.
EXPERIENCE: At least 1 year in nursing preferred.
LICENSURE: Current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Iowa required.
