In the role of Registered Nurse inthe Department of Plastic Surgery,you will collaboratively withphysicians and other clinic staff to provide professional nursing careto patients. Provide patient and family health education and healthassessment. Responsibilities: Working within scope of license, developand implement nursing plan of care for patients. Communicate the plan ofcare to patients as prescribed by physician: test results, scheduling ofspecialized tests and treatment modalities, prescription druginstructions and other patient education. Document treatment in medicalrecord appropriately. Using the nursing process, triage patient concernsvia telephone and provide nursing advice. Receive phone calls relatingto appointments, urgent care, inpatient admissions, prescription refillsand test results in accordance with clinic protocols and coordinateproper disposition of each. Obtain, review, verify and/or completehealth care forms related to home health care, referrals, medicalequipment and other patient/physician needs as appropriate. Assist withmanaged care authorization and complete insurance and medical forms forpatients or assist patients in completing the forms. Help maintainpatient flow and workflow. Work collaboratively as a team member of theclinic staff to provide a high quality and efficient service to patientsand clinic. Maintain patient confidentiality. Assist with clinicaltrials according to protocol, if required. Knowledge - Skills -Abilities Knowledge of biology, clinical judgment, medicine, culturalawareness, and consulting. Medical documentation, interpersonal,practice-based learning and improvement, empathy, and decision makingskills. Preferred Schedule: M-F 8-5, no nights weekends or holidaysPosition Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Appropriate experiencemay be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
