The Registered Nurse on the Cardiac Telemetry unit is an essentialmember of the patient care team responsible for the delivery of directand indirect patient care through the nursing process in all areas ofthe unit: Cardio-Pulmonary, dialysis, oncology, and all generalmed/surgical patients treated on the unit. The RN will delegate thoseinterventions, which may be performed by others, supervises asappropriate, assists in maintaining a safe environment for the renderingof effective nursing care provide education to patients, and families,and collaborates with other health professionals in theplanningmanagement of health care.
C2 is a fast-paced, 31-bed unit, serving a primarily geriatricpopulation.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Associate degree in Nursing (or 3-year Diploma) required Bachelorsdegree preferred
Must possess a valid State of Maine RN license
BLS certification required
ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
Must attend telemetry course during orientation
EXPERIENCE
1-year previous nursing experience preferred
OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required
Responsible, supportive team player
