Here, you will make an impact by:Responsibilities:Understanding and applying the operating principles, purpose, proper application, and design limitations of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical circuits such as chillers, compressors, cooling towers, pumps, flow meters, fans, thermostats, humidistats, heat exchangers, and recorders.Setting up, operating, and reading precision testing and measuring instruments to the instrument manufacturer's specification of accuracy. These instruments and devices include leak detectors, pressure gages, thermometers, psychrometers, velometers, and similar devices.Troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment malfunctions. Making repairs or adjustments to existing components and possessing the capability to identify replacement or substitute components.Maintaining control logic program design and modifications to 3M building HVAC Unit controls.Completing required shop paperwork and using reporting system following established procedures. This includes Daily Work Records, P.M. Route Sheets, Stock Withdrawal forms, and other forms and records that may be required in the performance of the job or operation of the department.Required:To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:Associate degree or certification in the two-year program from an accredited school in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and RefrigerationMinimum of two (2) years work experience applicable to the 3M Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Craft Skill area within the past seven (7) yearsAbility to work 2nd shift.Knowledge of operating principles of mechanical and electromechanical components used in the measurement and control of temperature, humidity, and airflow.Universal Refrigeration CertificationAppropriate drivers license and ability to pass MVR checkDesired:Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Bachelors degree in Heating, Ventilation, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration.A demonstrated mechanical backgroundKnowledge of the operating principles of mechanical, pneumatics, and electromechanical components used in the measurement and control of temperature, humidity, pressure, vacuum, level, flow, speed, motion, and gas burner & safety controls.Experience working with chillers and cooling tower systems.Experience working with chemical treatment systems associated with cooling towers, process cooling water systems, and closed-loop heating systems.Experience using refrigerant recovery equipment.Experience with precision testing and measuring instruments including devices such as leak detectors, pressure gages, thermometers, psychrometers, velocimeters, and similar instruments.Experience operating hand tools, small power tools, multi-meters, and various test equipment.Experience working with AC & DC variable speed motor controls.Pay & Benefits:The starting rate of pay for this position is $44.64. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
