Summary This position is located at the Mulberry Cove Marina which is part of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department aboard Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, Florida. This activity is maintained and operated as a service for all active duty, retired military and their dependents. Responsibilities Provide necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information and support of the Mulberry Cove Marina Program. Assist the Certified Sailing Instructor with sailing classes, observe activities of patrons to ensure that safety rules are followed. Provide information to patrons regarding safety rules and procedures. Enforce applicable policies and procedures of MWR regarding the use of the marina/sailing. Keep boating area clean and free from hazards. Responsible for all rigging/de-rigging of sailboats, returning them to a ready for rent condition. Inspect and notifies Marina Manager of unsafe discrepancies with sailboats. Greet customers, check I.D. cards to ensure only authorized patrons utilize the program. May also fills in for Auto Skills Center and Community Recreation Rental departments as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge of boating terminology, watercraft operation and maintenance, water and boating safety, handling of boats (e.g., launching, mooring, etc.), boating equipment and facilities. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Ability to follow instructions, present options and recommend solutions. Ability to work independently, demonstrate excellent customer service. Ability to effectively operate office machines to include cash registers and computers. Ability to operate a personal computer and perform basic word processing and spreadsheet tasks using Microsoft and site-specific software.
