  Description

  Position Summary:

  The Recovery House Manager serves as part of the Leadership team and works to ensure the delivery of quality services and tranquility to residential programs of WestCare Tennessee in designated service areas. This role coordinates with local community agencies including but not limited to recovery courts, drug courts, veteran courts, recovery centers and crisis units.

  Essential Job Functions:

  Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision and goals of WestCare Foundation.

  Possess a working knowledge of substance use disorders (SUD).

  Oversee the daily operations of the recovery house including drills, maintenance needs, managing paperwork and administrative task.

  Monitor recovery house technology, mechanical, and other household equipment usage.

  Point of contact for referrals into the house.

  Be professional and act in an appropriate manner at all times.

  Help problem solve and provide mediation among residential participants.

  Maintain calmness during crisis situations.

  Be an effective and honest communicator.

  Uphold a strong understanding of house rules.

  Enforce house rules, including curfew.

  Conduct random urine drug screening and report positive results to the TN Regional Administrator.

  Report any suspicion to the TN Regional Administrator in a timely manner.

  Input incident reports to the WestCare TN CDS system in a timely manner.

  Manage household supplies and communicate needs to the Administrative Programs Assistant in a timely manner.

  Facilitate classes to help increase independent living skills.

  Organize residential files for efficient case management and treatment needs.

  Develop prevention and intervention plans for residential and resident safety.

  Research and implement local and state regulations for compliance.

  Provide guidance on clear chain of command, strict adherence to rules and regulations to maintain success of the residential program.

  Provide feedback to the TN Regional Administrator to help secure diverse funding for programs.

  Develop a structure routine for residents that include but not limited to scheduling, chores, discipline, meal preparation, group activities, counseling/therapy sessions, support services, job training, and employment opportunities.

  Help design and implement a safe, supportive, nurturing, positive and productive living environment.

  Incorporate elements of accountability and teamwork for residential participants.

  Ensure residential participants communal area is clean and maintained.

  Monitor residential participants room for cleanliness by conducting random room checks.

  Scheduling/ Managing correspondence and appointments for residential participants.

  Support implementation and coordination of various programs, initiatives, events, and meetings to help support individuals in recovery to ensure success.

  Develop a comprehensive program to help support resident’s transition.

  Collaborate with WestCare Tennessee staff on planning, implementation, and delivery of prevention, treatment, recovery and harm reduction services to participants in residential program.

  Serve as a community contact person to conduct program presentations and updates as needed.

  Attend in-person and virtual program conferences and meetings, community meetings, and events as deemed necessary.

  Identify and track new relationships with additional businesses, government officials, agency leaders and other influential individuals that will support WestCare Tennessee Mission and Vision.

  Obtain basic First Aid, CPR, AED, and Narcan certification training.

  Engage and collaborate with the local Crisis Teams to help deliver quality service.

  Work closely with the Continuum of Care (CoC) in service areas.

  Attend necessary monthly integrated staff team meetings.

  Qualifications

  Essential Qualifications:

  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  Certifications/Licenses:

  Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare vehicle insurance isrequired.

  Certified Peer Recovery Specialist ispreferred.

  Education:

  Graduation from an accredited two-year Community College or a four-year College/University with a degree in Communication, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or related human services field to the position is preferred.

  Experience working with the population of focus or closely related population.

  Experience and Competencies:

  Basic knowledge of behavioral health, social services, judicial system, law enforcement, veteran services or related industry.

  Experience as a House Manager or leadership in a residential programpreferred.

  Experience working with the population of focus or closely related population.

  Previous experience in recovery with at least 2-4 years sober.

  Knowledgeable of community resources.

  Excellent communication skills including public speaking and group facilitation/training.

  Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.

  Ability to work well in a team environment.

  Ability to adhere to the highest standard of ethical conduct and confidentiality.

  Professional appearance and demeanor.

  Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to populations served.

  Research and evaluate data.

  Experience with using data tracking systems.

  Ability to work in different program systems in providing day to day operations.

  Ability to stay highly organized and maintain time management.

  Ability to utilize a computer and software that includes Microsoft 365.

  Working Conditions:

  Work is primarily performed in an office or indoor setting.

  Some outdoor activities and travel will be required.

  Some travel will be required to trainings and conferences.

  Regular and prompt attendance is required throughout employment.

  The employee must be able to perform the following essential duties and activities with or

  Physical Demands:

  Requires mobility and physical activity: Having an adequate range of body motion and mobility to work in an office or outdoor environment including standing and walking (even and uneven surfaces), sitting for extended periods of time, bending, twisting, reaching, balancing, occasional lifting and carrying of up to fifty pounds. Use of computer and telephone systems is required which includes coordination of eye and hand, and proper utilization by the hands (typing, writing, and working with files).

  Requires talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is required to impart oral information to employees, the public, and in those activities in which the employee is required to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or promptly.

  Requires hearing: Hearing is required to receive and communicate detailed information through oral communication.

  Requires seeing: Clarity of vision including proper eyewear at 20 inches or less and at distance.

  The normal work routine involves no exposure to human blood, body fluids or tissues. However, exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee.

  Mental Demands:

  Requires the ability to collect and analyze complex numerical and written data and verbal information to reach logical conclusions.

  Requires the ability to work and cooperate with co-workers, managers, and the public at all levels in order to exchange ideas, information, instructions, and opinions.
