THE OPPORTUNITY
Our forward-thinking client is inviting applications for the position of Controller with commendable experience in government contracts. We are seeking an individual who is highly knowledgeable about financial management, government contracts, and has an analytical mindset, with excellent management skills to lead our team.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO EVERY DAY
Oversee and manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
Execute and manage government contracts.
Supervise daily operations and organize workflows of the Accounting Department.
Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
Guide and support management in making financially sound decisions by providing financial insights.
Ensure the company's financial systems are compliant with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff.
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in accounting; experience with government contracts is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is highly preferred.
Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
Exceptional understanding of government contract accounting and compliance issues.
Robust knowledge of financial accounting standards and practices.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to present financial matters clearly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
