Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Receptionist in Columbia, Maryland. This role primarily revolves around managing the front desk operations and some emailing tasks. The selected candidate will be the first point of contact for our visitors and will also be responsible for managing the switchboard and handling basic office tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors, handle their inquiries, and direct them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.

• Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.

• Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to work with pay records, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents.

• File and maintain records.

• Provide services to customers, such as order placement or account information.

• Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.

• Process and prepare documents, such as business or government forms or expense reports.

• Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or facsimile machine.

• Operate office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, or phone systems, and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions.

• Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars. Requirements • Proven experience as a receptionist, front office representative, or similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word

• Familiarity with office machines (e.g. fax, printer, etc.)

• Strong communication and people skills

• Good organizational and multitasking abilities

• Problem-solving skills

• Customer service orientation

• Ability to handle and direct incoming calls on a multi-line switchboard

• High school diploma; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
