R&D V&V Software Engineer CR (Temporary 12 months)

Education / Educación: A Bachelor of Engineering degree.
Languages required for the position (Desirable) / Idiomas requeridos para el puesto (preferible): Spanish/Advaced English
Computer tools and knowledge level required (Desirable) / Herramientas informáticas y nivel de conocimiento requerido:
Basic Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other office software programs.
Specialized Knowledge (Desirable) / Conocimiento especializado (preferible):
General computer science knowledge, including operating systems, databases, software systems, and networking.
Use of oscilloscope, multimeter, etc. for testing embedded software is required.
Ability to do assembly/disassembly of electromechanical equipment, including circuit board replacement, replacement of mechanical components and electromechanical components (motors, for instance)
Reading wiring and circuit board schematics
As a plus:
Problem-solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
Previous software development, mechanical design, and/or electrical design.
Competency in statistical analysis and tools (MiniTab preferred)
Basic Knowledge of electromechanical systems
Familiar with Good Laboratory Practices and QSR (Quality Systems Regulations)

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities / Resumen de funciones y responsabilidades:
Supports research, design and development projects including creating software and hardware tools to meet product development needs. The R&D Verification and Validation Software Engineer 1 works closely with other testers and engineers, develop an understanding of how our products work.
Execute Protocols and laboratory notebook studies to test and document the quality of features and functionality of our systems. She/he will be determined in searching for potential product improvements and insist on the highest levels of product quality.
Apply and share knowledge of best practices in software, hardware, and systems testing.
A strong desire to constantly find smarter and better ways to test Hologic’s products, so we can continue providing the best quality of care to our patients. She/he will support and provide feedback to new products by troubleshooting product and component issues.
Propose and develop solutions to design, and quality issues through the application of engineering principles, analysis, and empirical methods.
Create and maintain accurate documentation of prototype concepts, software, drawings, and shop orders in coordination with the Quality Assurance and manufacturing functions.
Propose designs of prototype fixtures and establish methods to support design verification activities.
Develop test methods, generate protocols, and complete reports for design verification, and design validation.
Coordinate work with outside vendors and internal personnel including material procurement and testing.
Support completion of Design History File Documentation per FDA requirements.
