Job Summary Provide on the snow support for alpine race events atthe resort. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Install andremove fencing and safety netting as needed. - Side-slip and rake courseto maintain a consistent surface for all racers. - Secure race areas andcontrol authorized access to the racecourse. - Maintain race equipment,radios and other tools used by racing. - Set, maintain, remove, andrepair racing gates. - Apply dye or salt to the racing course asneeded. - Inspect courses maintaining on-hill safety for athletes andother skiers. - Perform other tasks as assigned by race director.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) - Strongtechnical skier background. - Understanding of electronic timingsystems. - Ability to work effectively and appropriately with and aroundchildren. - Communicate clearly using 2 way radios. - SSA Membership notrequired but a plus. - Experience and certification as an AlpineOfficial preferred. Physical Demands - Must beable to carry up to 50 pounds while skiing. - Must be able to ski,stand, bend, climb, lift, reach, push and pull repetitively. - Must bementally attentive and focused at all times. - Must be able to adapt toclimate and work in extreme weather conditions. Shift Requirements -Frequent evening shifts for after school practices and races. - Frequentweekend and holiday shifts. - Availability for weekdayafternoons/evening and weekends is a plus. Age Requirements -Applicants must be at least age 18.
