Weyerhaeuser Company is currently recruiting for a conscientious, detail-oriented Value Technician to join our Night Shift Quality Team in ensuring all expectations for quality, optimization, and continuous improvement are met in Greenville Lumber's sawmill department.

　　Key Functions

　　Role model a strong commitment to working safely and contributing to a strong safety cultureEnsure specifications for high value products are met and manage overall lumber qualityUnderstand life cycle of the lumber manufacturing process from incoming raw materials through the end point customerUnderstand and apply knowledge of value systems and gradingMonitor optimization systems and verify conformance to standardsMonitor performance of grading/optimization equipment and make adjustments as needed (i.e. clean, calibrate/align, and troubleshoot issues)Assists in identifying and correcting issues that impact lumber qualityUnderstand operational roles and support/assist the production team as neededWork and effectively communicate with outside agencies and vendors during inspections and auditsRespond to quality issues and provides immediate feedbackTroubleshoot and research important information to determine root cause of quality issuesPartners proactively and effectively with other team members and departments to mitigate or resolve quality and production issuesThis is a night shift position and the hours will be 5:30pm to 4:30am.

　　High School diploma or equivalentAble to work safely and follow all company policies and procedures3 years' experience in a lumber manufacturing facility preferredWilling and able to work independently with little supervision and make decisions based on data and statistical informationStrong computer skills (Microsoft Office proficiency)Strong communication skills (verbal and written)Able to perform basic mathematical functionsBasic mechanical and electrical knowledgeAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage through occasionally high stress situationsQuality control experience and general knowledge of optimization/data systems preferredResume detailing education and work history required for considerationMust be flexible with work schedule and able to work any shift, weekends, overtime, holidays as neededAble to perform all essentials functions in an industrial environment, which may include lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing steps, working from heights, standing or walking for 2-3 hours at a time for 10 hours or more, working in extreme temperatures, dust, and noise while wearing all safety equipmentSuccessful completion of assessment process, background check and post-offer pre-employment drug screen.About Wood Products:We've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
