Essential Functions:
The Quality Specialist is responsible for reviewing, approving, and maintaining records of the quality activities and certifications generated internally by production or externally by suppliers. Additionally, they support the quality manager, the operations department, the engineering department, the supply chain, and other departments in ensuring the quality of products and documentations supplied to the customer are meeting the requirements.
Role and Responsibilities:
Interpret, understand, and comply with company quality management system.
Create Purchase requisitions and POs for outside services.
Review, approve, and maintain quality records provided by suppliers and outside service providers.
Generate, review, approve, and maintain quality records created by internal activities.
Maintain effective records-keeping and data retrieving systems.
Participate in Internal, customer, and accreditation audits.
Review work orders and confirm their readiness for product certification. As part of this activity, they will:
Review Heat Treat batches’ reviews.
Review NCRs created against products to ensure proper closure.
Perform SAP product movement into Finished Goods
Support corrective / preventative action and process improvement activities.
Able to prioritize, manage time well, multi-task, and troubleshoot effectively and to work independently in a demanding environment.
Ability to monitor and improve quality objectives.
Ability to apply problem solving methodology to positively impact business objectives.
Ability to work with external and internal customers.

Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 1 year’s quality experience.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering , or other relevant discipline.
1-3 years’ experience in documentation management, preferably in manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret procedures, standards, and specifications.
Understanding of ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems.
Excellent PC skills (proficient in Microsoft Office).
Excellent Communication and Presentation skills (written, verbal and non- verbal).
Experience with SAP is preferable.
Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement.
