System One is looking for a NAVSEA (Navy nuclear) or Commericial Nuclear experienced quality engineer for a 12 month contract at Curtiss-Wright EMD in Cheswick, PA.
Job Responsibilities:
Evaluate contract proposals to translate customer, regulatory, and code requirements into supplier or internal use instructions.
Execute supplier oversight activities which may include surveillance activities, witness and hold points, commercial grade surveys, and audits.
Implement risk mitigation toolkits with suppliers such as FMEA and Control Plans.
Perform data analysis to evaluate suppliers and take appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
Oversee critical processes to ensure product quality.
Ensure that supplier contractual requirements are met.
Interface with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Support supplier development and the resolution of technical issues with suppliers.
Support quality compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility.
Performs assigned responsibilities in planning and implementing quality assurance programs on customer orders. This includes but is not limited to:
Inspection plans, measurement methods and recording forms
Quality Assurance systems, methods, and procedures
Statistical methods to control and evaluate process capabilities, where applicable
Development of quality assurance data packages for customer review
Supplier qualification evaluation and selection
Review and approve drawings, routings, requisitions, specifications, procedures, supplier certifications, quality inspection plans and similar documents related to assigned projects. Perform analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures.
Work to develop and implement improvement programs to design and re-engineer quality techniques and processes that impact cost, time, and quality objectives.
Assists other departments as necessary in establishing standards relative to ensuring product quality.
Apply standard industry problem solving tools.
Experience:
Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
BS Engineering or equivalent
0 to 15 years of experience in relevant field
Prefer experience in: Nuclear Power Industry or Nuclear Navy experience
Lead Auditor certification
Lean Manufacturing
Regulated Industries (e.g., aerospace, food, nuclear, transportation, biotech)
Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Master Black Belt certifications
ASQ Certifications
Ability to travel, up to 25%
