Job Overview:
We are searching for a Project Director Project to support our Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) projects. The Project Director will be responsible for the effective management of work activities on the site, with efforts primarily focused on D&D projects at the site. The Project Director is part of a Project Management Office (PMO) implementing complex, multi-year projects through identification and completion of critical path and parallel work activities to achieve optimum performance. Travel, and/or long-term project assignments are required.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Developing and maintaining a PMO that is capable of all aspects of project management (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and project closeout) for the site
To lead effective implementation of the Earned Value Management System, as well as risk management and planning
This position is responsible for data administration for enterprise scheduling and resource
Development of corrective action plans for troubled projects
Overall coordination of initial work planning/scoping working with operations and engineering to develop a resource loaded schedule and cost estimate
Primary interface with operations and project planners/schedulers
Supervises daily activities of project personnel including technical and administrative support and ensures that deliverables are produced on schedule and within budget.
Establishes and monitors project safety and quality programs.
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls small projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
Assist in planning and resolving interface issues with the customer and production groups
Interface with customer technical representatives to ensure Preparation of Monthly Financial Reports including Monthly Progress Reports
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in relevant degree (Engineering, Physical Science)
Fifteen (15) plus years project management supervisory experience on large, complex nuclear projects involving radioactive waste environmental remediation and disposal.
PMP Certification preferred
Working knowledge of DOE Order 413.3B
A minimum of 5 years of experience using Earned Value Management Systems
Demonstrated experience in leading (supervising/managing) multi-discipline teams to achieve project objectives
Must have experience in nuclear operations, engineering design, and/or D&D/waste management
Experience at DOE facilities and projects with a detailed working knowledge of key DOE Orders related to EVMS, baseline management, ES&H, QA, Conduct of Operations, and Engineering/Construction.
Must be a US Citizen -- no dual citizenship
Current security clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one.
