Job Summary:
The Quality Control “QC” position is responsible for ensuring the plan is following all regulations as outlined by Federal and State guidelines and company policies. This position will work directly with the QC Supervisor, Plant Manager, Food Safety Manager, and Logistics Manager to ensure the plan is producing, operating, and complying with listed above agencies. Additionally, Quality Control will oversee the implementation, documentation, and review of all Trillium Farms’ food safety and food quality plan and procedures.
Essential Duties:
Ensure that all the products meet or exceed USDA, company, and customer specifications.
Monitoring and verification of compliance with Federal and State regulations and the company’s food safety and quality procedures and protocols.
Daily Monitoring/testing wash water, rinse water, pH, employee hygiene, cooler temperatures and other control points.
Properly maintain all logs and records.
Monitors/tests wash water, sanitizer concentration, pH levels, product temperatures and other control points.
Performs and records pre-operational sanitation inspections to ensure that the equipment is clean prior to processing.
Conducts ATP swabbing procedures to verify equipment is clean prior to processing.
Samples and inspects liquid egg product for safety and quality
Inspects tankers prior to loading to ensure they meet minimum sanitary requirements.
Performs microbiological testing of liquid egg product samples.
Monitors sanitary conditions of facility during processing.
Monitors and ensures GMP’s are being followed during processing.
Communicates deviations and/or deficiencies to site management and compliance management in a timely and effective manner.
Provides support to operations to ensure the plant is operating efficiently while maintaining compliance with all food safety and quality standards.
Maintains compliance to all internal/external quality, food safety and site safety policies, regulations, standards and procedures, as designated by Trillium Management Team.
Promotes a culture consistent with Trillium’s Guiding Principles and Core Values.
Other duties as assigned by Assistant Food Safety Manager, Food Safety Manager, and/or site management
Qualifications:
Food safety or quality assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
Experience and knowledge of raw materials, production processes and quality control preferred.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certification strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; organized, goal oriented and accountable; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a definite plus.
Be able to stand for extended periods
Bending and stooping to obtain readings and verify code dates.
Be able to maintain a fast pace continually.
