Purchasing Agent

　　We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team at C and R Pipe and Steel, Inc., the largest steel supply company in Alaska. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, shipping and receiving of materials, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials. Your role will play a crucial part in our supply chain operations. Other job duties may include answering phones, sales, and other tasks as needed.

　　Responsibilities:

　　Order Management:Efficiently process purchase orders, oversee procurement processes, and ensure timely delivery.Supplier Relations:Build and maintain strong relationships to secure optimal deals on high-quality pipe and steel materials.Cost Optimization:Utilize negotiation expertise to secure competitive pricing without compromising on quality.Quality Oversight:Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure materials meet or exceed industry standards.Inventory Optimization:Monitor and fine-tune inventory levels, minimizing excess or obsolete stock.Shipping and Receiving:Coordinate smooth shipping and receiving processes, liaising with suppliers and internal teams.Contract Administration:Review, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.Other duties as assignedQualifications:

　　Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the construction field.Strong negotiation skills and familiarity with inventory management software/processes.Thorough understanding of quality control processes.Valid Alaska Drivers LicenseMust be able to pass a background checkMust be able to pass a drug testJob Type: Full-time

　　Pay: From $22.00 per hour

　　Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
