Safely operates public transit system vehicles on assigned routes; transports passengers in and round three local counties, through surrounding areas and to more distant destinations as required.Performs pre-trip inspections on vehicle to include but not limited to: service and parking brakes, lights and reflectors, tires, horn, windshield and windows, windshield wipers, mirrors, wheels, tires and rims, emergency equipment, doors and panels, bus interior, wheel chair lifts, cleanliness of interior. Checks fuel, oil, water, coolant and air pressure levels prior to departure. Complete pre-trip inspection form and report and reports problems to Dispatch.Provides information to passengers to prevent harm or injury while boarding, riding, and exiting the vehicle. Educates passengers on rules and regulations regarding smoking, drinking, use of radios, cell phones and rules of etiquette while aboard the vehicle.Provides information to customers regarding routes and scheduled times. Has route schedules available in the vehicle.Operates and maintains a wheelchair access lift on vehicle; ensures wheelchair passengers are properly loaded, secured and stabilized on board, unloaded and safely delivered to appropriate destination.Administers First Aid and/or CPR if necessary for passengers; appropriately responds to injuries involving blood-borne pathogens. Properly cleans up and bodily fluid spills in the vehicle.Calls Dispatch for assistance when emergency services and a Road Supervisor is needed according to procedures.Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.Complies with local traffic regulations, route schedules, and designated stops.Reports delays or accidents to dispatch promptly. Follows established procedures for accidents, bio hazards, etc.Performs post-trip inspections on vehicle, including but not limited to: those items reviewed in the pre-trip inspection, sign shift-end inspection sheet verifying all items have been checked and found operable and safe, and report any problems to Dispatch.Prepare and submit daily reports in various formats on vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger traffic.Collect and track passenger fees, bus tickets, passes and other forms of payment. Safely transport contents of fare box to a locker in the Fare Box room.Properly secures vehicle, fare box, keys, radio, company phone, and other company owned equipment.Ensure driver reports to work following the complete uniform standards.
