Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking anorganized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve asAssociate Payroll Administrator. Under administrative direction, thisposition will serve as second in command of the Payroll Unit, makingdecisions and handling issues occurring in the absence of the PayrollAdministrator. The position will provide input into the development,implementation, and evaluation of statewide policies and procedures forPayroll operations, making recommendations to the Payroll Administratorregarding proposals to facilitate greater efficiency and effectivenessof operations and recommending strategies for streamlining unitprocesses. The position will supervise subordinate professional staffand serve as a resource for Departmental administrative staff, providingadministrative guidance and technical assistance relating to changes inpayroll/timekeeping services, policies, and procedures. Job Responsibilities
1. Serves as Associate Payroll Administrator; as second in command ofthe Payroll Unit, makes decisions and handles issues occurring in theabsence of the Payroll Administrator
2. Serves as Full line supervisor
3. Provides input into the review of statewide office procedures toensure compliance with agency practices, objectives, applicable stateand federal rules and regulations, and bargaining unit agreements
4. Serves as a resource for Departmental administrative staff,providing administrative guidance and technical assistance relating tochanges in payroll/timekeeping services, policies, and procedures
5. Serves as a liaison between DCFS and DHS Payroll Administration,providing administrative input into the implementation and revision ofthe policies and procedures utilized between the two entities
6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonablywithin the scope of the duties enumerated above
