A day in the life of the Public Relations Specialist can look like:
Be responsible for supporting the Public Relations Department with internal and external communication efforts that are driven by GVEA's mission and strategic directives. Ensure that members and employees are well-informed and connected to their cooperative by guaranteeing timely, accurate and consistent communication. Promote a positive and professional corporate image.Use problem solving skills to research and write for a range of platforms including articles, news releases, brochures, member letters, newsletters, speeches, social media posts, internal reports and television and radio scripts.Support internal celebrations and external special events including the Annual Members' Meeting, Cooperative Month, volunteer efforts and others.
Eligibility
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English, marketing or a related field required. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirement. Valid Alaska driver's license.Minimum of five years' experience in a marketing, community relations, business, public relations, communications or related field.Notes: Candidates must submit a portfolio with a minimum of three writing samples and three samples of materials designed by the applicant (brochure, newsletter, flyer, social media post, video, etc.).Make A Difference
