Job Description
We are looking for a Public Health Investigator to coordinate all infant formula direct ship activities, maintain USDA-required cost containment contract, and provide technical assistance to Vendor Liaisons across the state. This position will be full-time contract and remote.
What You’ll Do
Manage all inventory, product availability, and shipping arrangements for direct ship infant formula and ensure that all deliveries are completed and delivered successfully
Communication with direct ship warehouse, formula manufacturers, USDA, and additional stakeholders to ensure adequate infant formula stock for families
Coordinate with Business Team to ensure that invoicing is accurate, and representative of orders placed, maintaining appropriate funding levels in direct ship purchase orders. Maintain all direct ship records appropriately
Participate in all aspects of infant formula cost containment RFP, bid, and contract procurement to provide a vendor perspective along with members from the Nutrition Team, Business Team, and Special Projects Coordinator
Provide continued technical assistance and guidance to Vendor Liaisons across the state to ensure that vendor relationships are maintained, families are educated in EBT usage, and vendor-related activities are consistent throughout Indiana
Assess and resolve issues relating to local agency formula issues
Work with Nutrition Team to determine availability of products on Formulary and communicate to local agencies and vendors about formula needs across Indiana
Create policies, safety procedures, risk management policy, and supply chain processes as needed to increase logistical efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Assist in the development of and participate in annual vendor training
Serve on Formula Committee
Support and promote all vendor activities
Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need

Ability to understand infant formula and WEN queries to help vendors improve shelf inventory
Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
At least one year’s experience in program coordination
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Work, PowerPoint)
Extensive knowledge of program methodology and regulations
Strong ability to identify problems or needs in local agency operations, determine solutions, and provide constructive feedback
Able to work well under pressure and shifting priorities, independently and as a team member
Maintain positive relationships with State and local agency staff, employees, and partner organizations
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
