　　Maintains lab inventory

　　Meets with supervisor and co-workers to discuss daily procedures, issues and ideas

　　Reports problems to the assistant director

　　Meets with faculty to identify their laboratory needs

　　Keeps labs, prep areas, stock rooms and greenhouse areas organized and in good condition for efficient and safe use

　　Maintains and cleans laboratory glassware, equipment, cabinets, shelves, animal cages, etc.

　　Preps laboratory carts; ensures labs are clean and supplies are in lab in advance of start time; make preparations for visiting groups

　　Monitors security of lab equipment

　　Related duties as assigned.

　　Typical Qualifications

　　Education:

　　Associate’s degreeExperience:

　　Science lab experience preferred. Competencies and Skills

　　Demonstrated knowledge of science lab equipment, materials, and safety practices

　　Good organizational skills

　　Computer literacy

　　Able to handle dissection specimens

　　Physical Requirements:

　　Ability to walk/stand for up to 7 hours

　　Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

　　Ability to climb two flights of stairs and ladder/step stool

　　Supplemental Information

　　This is a part time position requiring up to 26 hours per week.

　　Terms of Employment:

　　This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.Paid sick leave in accordance with NJ Sick Leave Law

　　Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
