  Compensation Minimum:$69,000/ year

  Compensation Maximum:$115,000/ year

  Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location.

  As a Property Field Claims Adjuster, you will investigate and maintain residential property/casualty claims you will determine liability, secure information, review coverages, arrange appraisals, and settle claims. You will support the Claim Division goal of ensuring customer service industry leadership and partners with agency to deliver seamless claim service. As an experienced adjuster, you will work on moderately complex claims up to $50,000. You will work primarily from home and report to the Claims Manager.

  Primary Accountabilities

  •You will investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting the appropriate parties including insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation unit, other adjusters, public personnel, etc.

  •Identify complex issues and seek assistance and handle claims on a good faith basis.

  •Handle 1st party claims under multiple policy types and numerous endorsements.

  •Conduct on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages, and handles claim negotiations with insureds, claimants, attorneys, or public adjusters.

  •Respond to customer inquiries, makes appropriate decisions and closes file.

  •Interpret and determine policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles and contract coverages and applies to all parties for assigned losses.

  •Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status; answer questions or redirect to other areas.

  Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements

  •Demonstrate 3+ years of experience providing customer-focused solutions or service.

  •Demonstrate experience handling 1st party claims across our operating territories, or other equivalent experience.

  •Demonstrated experience handling moderately complex claims, or other equivalent experience.

  •Solid understanding of policies and endorsements related to 1st party coverages, or another equivalent knowledge.

  •Solid knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process, or other equivalent knowledge.

  Licenses

  •Valid driver's license required plus an acceptable driving record.

  •Obtain state specific property casualty claims licensing.

  Travel Requirements

  •Up to 10%.

  •Catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable.

  Physical Requirements

  •Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like. We may ask for employees to visit areas that have a higher hazard than a typical office such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations.

  •Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in several environments including tight and confined spaces. Adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.

  Working Conditions

  •Low temperatures.

  •High temperatures.

  •Outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.

  •Noisy environments.

  •Hazardous conditions.

  •Poor ventilation.

  •Small and/or enclosed spaces.
