You will be expected to immediately impact our firm as we seek innovative ways to serve our clients and grow our geographic presence in northeast Ohio. You must exhibit a professional attitude, visionary thinking, innovative ideas, analytical problem solving and a willingness to collaborate while having the ability to work independently. A strong existing professional network and experience with local public agencies and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) projects will assist in meeting the job requirements as a client-facing subject matter expert.PROJECT MANAGER CIVIL ROADWAY DESIGN ENGINEER EDUCATION AND REGISTRATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required* Master's degree in civil engineering preferred* P.E. license registered in state of OhioPROJECT MANAGER CIVIL ROADWAY DESIGN ENGINEER EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:* At least 5 years of project management experience including civil roadway discipline leadership* Project management skills such as schedule management, financial project management and excellent written and verbal communication skills required* At least 10 years of progressive engineering experience possessing a broad knowledge and experience in transportation and roadway design* Experience working with ODOT is required* Experience working with local public agencies in Northeast Ohio preferred* Civil3D, MicroStation, GEOPAK or OpenRoads software experience preferredPROJECT MANAGER CIVIL ROADWAY DESIGN ENGINEER JOB DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:* Provide project management and engineering design services for traditional design-bid-build projects and design-build transportation projects* Lead, manage, and perform engineering design tasks for transportation projects from preliminary to final design* Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages* Establish working relationships and contact with client technical staff and project managers especially in ODOT, local governments and private clients* Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design and constructions plans* Coordinate design activities and meetings between design staff, subcontractors, and client managers* Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, fee and scheduling performance reviewsLJB offers competitive compensation packages, which includes paid time off, a 401(k)/profit sharing plan, tuition reimbursement, flexibility, and mobility.
