Job Description Summary:
This position is eligible for flexible work arrangement. The Project Manager IV will collaborate closely with clients, technical staff, team members, vendors and other stakeholders. This includes managing IT projects and/or operations and the technical staff assigned to the project, and performing limited specialized technical duties.
Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee the Office of Information Technology (OIT) PMO to ensure IT programs and projects meet TAC 216 and OIT guidelines.
Extend the PMO strategy to continue to develop and grow project management expertise in the OIT.
Coach OIT project managers and coordinators on TAC 216, OIT and A&M System best practices.- Partner with the Executive Director of Program and Project Management to integrate organizational change management concepts, activities, tasks and deliverables into projects.- Manage and drive large projects to successful and timely implementation from conception to completion, working in collaboration with project teams.
In partnership with Executive and Business Sponsors and SMEs, determine project, adoption and use objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at completion. Build and maintain close working relationships with OIT and member stakeholders.- Build a collaborative environment with project teams to assure projects meet critical business requirements.
Facilitate team and stakeholder meetings to guide project implementation.
Hold regular status meetings with project team.
Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.- Communicate with project sponsors, advisory boards and project directors on project status as appropriate for each group.- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Nine years of professional experience managing large and/or complex Information Resources projects or operations at an agency or higher education institution, or other large, complex organization.
Registration, Certifications, and Licenses:- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or ability to obtain within one year of employment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, editing and presentation skills.- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and project management software.- Able to manage projects of varying complexity and impact using waterfall, hybrid and Agile approaches; able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Able to work collaboratively in a matrixed organization.- Able to work in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision.
Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively with others.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using TeamDynamix.- Experience with Texas Administrative Code 216 and knowledge of resources provided by the Texas Department of Information Resources.
