General Requirements:
Master’s degree in Security Studies/Homeland Studies, Public Policy, Political Science or a related field of study preferred. Minimum of five-years’ experience in professional management or experience in a related field. Knowledge and skill in applying principles and practices of project management, basic and applied research methods, and related fields of operations. Experience working in one or more of the following Critical Infrastructure (CI) areas (See https://www.cisa.gov/topics/critical-infrastructure-security-and-resilience/critical-infrastructure-sectors). Experience in a leadership/management role in a company or government agency in a related CI sector is preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Supports education and research activities in one or more of the CI areas or other IHS focused activities.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Development of professional education courses, leads CIP collaboration events, and facilitates applied research to inform policies, procedures, and practices for CI resiliency strategies. Coordinates with researchers, public organizations, private industry, and consultants. Facilitates public and private partnerships in one or more of the IHS focus areas. Requires the ability to develop and maintain liaison work with industry and government partners and to establish working relationships for enhancing data exchange and analysis. Responsible for identifying additional sources of funding and drafting funding request proposals. Works closely with the IHS team to review and assess the outputs of the Institute, determine strategic direction, and to develop educational, informational, and research products produced by the Institute. Performs other related duties as assigned.
