Utilize expert knowledge and comprehensive experiences related to project management principles to independently plan and coordinate work, develop cost estimates, track costs, monitor progress. Provide status briefings to management at various agency echelons. Lead and direct interdisciplinary teams (IDT) carrying out environmental studies and evaluations. Maintain consistent, timely communications with all internal and external customers in order to fully gather and understand information regarding requirements and needs. Develop, institute, coordinate, and engage internally and externally, with Federal, state, local, and tribal governments, project sponsor, and the public to manage expectations through information sharing and strategic messaging. Apply advanced written and oral communication theories and practices, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, leadership and similar concepts and principles in order to serve as spokesperson and liaison for projects. Assure early identification of project risks, problems or issues and facilitates the resolution of identified risks, problems, or issues in the most appropriate manner. Specialized experience is further defined as: use of project management techniques on complex and/or controversial projects relating to land use, including leading interdisciplinary teams for compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA)); and effective oral and written communications with internal and external stakeholders regarding complex or controversial projects.
