ACS Professional Staffing is looking for an employee to work on-site with our client. The Project Manager 1 position will provide project management coordination, planning, and assistance for capital and expense, access roads projects, working closely with the Company Program Managers, Project Managers (PMs), district Foremen 3s, and Access Road Engineers throughout the Transmission Line & Civil Works Engineering (TEL) organization. This full-time position is located in Missoula, MT.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate activities for assigned projects that enable goals or objectives to be accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters, escalating concerns to the appropriate manager/personnel. Provide guidance and assistance, addressing and navigating politically sensitive issues or conflicting team priorities collaboratively and professionally. Schedule and facilitate project team meetings and coordinate activities of sub-teams. Assist with project tracking and document management. Assist with work plan management and resource coordination. Monitor the milestones, schedule, and budget to keep the project on track and budget. Identify, assess, monitor, and control risks on assigned projects. Track and maintain project documents in ProjectWise. Create and update projects regularly on the Access Road SharePoint site. Assist in the coordination of communication with outside entities including other city, state, and federal agencies, utilities, and other accounts/customers, tribes, public, and other stakeholders that are affected by transmission line work. Utilize GIS tools and SharePoint to track project information. Provide technical support to the Civil Design Manager and Project Manager(s), assisting with the development of access road projects, including preparing preliminary project scope, schedule, and cost estimates. Assist the Civil Design Manager and Project Manager(s) with the coordination of necessary activities to identify the most effective project location, considering facility performance, cost, and environmental impacts. Provide technical support to the project team in the completion of special design studies as assigned where unique or unusually complex problems are involved. Studies may include drainage crossings, bridges, hydraulic analyses, retaining walls, or other specialized structures associated with the transmission system. Work with the project team to provide access road support for the AR expense program, the AR capital program, and the Line Construction program. Requirements:
A degree in engineering, project or construction management, business administration, or a closely related degree is highly preferred: 1 year of experience is required with a Bachelor's degree in an applicable field (see above). 5 years of experience is required without a degree or applicable degree. Proficiency required with Microsoft Office Suite Software (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Proficiency with Visio, Access, and SharePoint. MS Project skill including project management features such as: experience with the fundamental operation, function, and workflow of Microsoft Project regarding timelines, dependencies, project expectations, milestones, and resources. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Ability to read and understand functional and technical specifications. Ability to accurately assess, estimate and forecast project costs. Experience must include working in civil engineering design for road and site plans, or a combination of education/experience that furnishes a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional applications of engineering techniques related to the field of Civil Engineering. Demonstrated experience reviewing and evaluating design packages (including drawings, material certifications, and submittals) for conformance to the design specifications and standards. Experience as a construction inspector including documentation. GIS experience. Knowledge of reconstruction of single-lane aggregate roads. Ability to survey baselines and develop stream profiles. Demonstrated ability to validate that specifications for the repair and construction of access roads and bridges are by policy and regulations and are technically correct. Project Management Certification: PMI or PMP certification. Energy and/or utility industry experience. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing reflecting a clear, accurate, and courteous style with team members, managers, and executives. Ability to manage timelines, dependencies, project expectations, milestones and resource allocation and management in projects. Ability to work autonomously when given specific assignments. Knowledge of Culvert sizing and Bridge design. Experience in Low Volume Road Design (LVRD) with an emphasis on repair of existing gravel roads Experience in Western Washington Storm Water Management design. Experience in Bentley ProjectWise. Working with Government agencies as well as the public. Bentley MicroStation Civil CAD software OpenRoads. Esri (GIS mapping software). A valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
