This Position is for a Project Engineer -- Hydrology and Hydraulics with a work location in Ridgeland, MS.
Seeks a Project Engineer -- Hydrology and Hydraulics to join the growing Transportation Team that could be located in the North Little Rock, AK; Frisco, TX; South Oklahoma City, OK; Ridgeland, MS or Houston, TX office, with the ability to collaborate with municipal, highway and other clients to prepare hydrologic and hydraulic reports, studies, and designs.
This Project Engineer will be responsible for:
Hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling of streams, rivers, drainage systems, and other storm water conveyance features
Preparing reports, studies, and designs related to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
Working with senior H&H managers to learn and enhance modeling skills
Working with a multi-disciplined team to execute project deliverables for clients
The successful candidate will also have the ability to collaborate and be mentored by experienced H&H professionals as well as interact with company staff from across the company.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
Course work emphasis in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong working knowledge of MS Office software
Preferred Skills
Licensed as an Engineer in Training (EI), or will have the ability to obtain within six months of hire
Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis software, especially HEC-HMS and HECâÂÂ?ÂÂ?RAS
Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on hydrology and hydraulics projects
Experience with CAD design software such as MicroStation
Experience with ESRI Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software
Master's degree in engineering with emphasis in water resources engineering
Experience with two-dimensional hydraulic modeling software
