Description
Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development and implementation process of the company's products and services. You will work closely with departmental or cross-functional teams, focusing on the delivery of new or existing products. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of project management methodologies and possess the ability to lead and execute projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements using standard estimating techniques and tools.
Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
Assure project quality by utilizing standard development methodologies and working with Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to develop and execute project quality plans.
Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports and participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
Resolve project issues by collaborating with team members, project customers, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Consult with internal project groups, sharing project management knowledge, and providing assistance or mentorship to more junior project leaders.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of the specified functional area.
OR
Master's degree with 0-2 years of related work experience.
OR
An equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Skills and Knowledge:
Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures.
General understanding of business unit/group function.
Ability to work in a quality system environment.
Strong cognitive skills with the ability to analyze situations and data, exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices.
Broad knowledge of technical alternatives and an understanding of their impact on the systems environment.
