Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Project Accountant 1 position supports the local operations AreaManagement, Accounting Manager and Project Accountants. The primaryresponsibilities of this position will be providing support for all facets ofproject and contract financial management. This includes, but is notlimited to, ensuring accurate contract documentation, contract monitoringand maintenance and contract administration during various stages of acontract life cycle. This position also includes assisting with the accurateand timely review and processing of employee timesheets, employee expensereports, accounts payable, billing and accounts receivable, internalcost recovery (postage, mileage and equipment) and various otheraccounting and financial management functions. This position assists thelocal operations accountants and follows practices and procedures inaccordance with HDR policies, HDR best practice processes, HDR accountingprinciples and federal government compliance standards.Primary Responsibilities include Cross-Functional Project Financial Support:Responsible for creation of accurate client invoices in compliance withcontract terms and accounting schedule.Enter project budget and funding based on information included in the contractdocuments and provided by Project Managers.Assist with research for local operations accountant manager and projectaccountants regarding project financial statusResponsible for client invoicing, supporting collections management andproject budgetingEnsure project accounting files have appropriate documentation and projectreconciliationCollaborate with Project Managers, Project accountants, and ProjectCoordinators to resolve outstanding A-R issues & confirm documentation ofcollection activitiesAssist multiple project accountants and other staff on a daily basisSecondary Responsibilities General Accounting Functions:Perform Accounts Payable functions relative to HDR accounts payableprocedures, including:Processing vendor invoices to the corporate finance and accounting groupReview and assist in processing Accounts Payable transactions for subconsultantsManage corporate credit card transactions & on-demand check requestsResearch and communicate release of subconsultant payments to corporatefinance & accounting groupAccount for Seminars & Conferences for both in-house and external eventsPerform internal cost recovery functions for billable project charges ofvehicles & equipmentMonitor timesheet labor adjustments & Accounts Payable/Expense reportadjustmentsAssist, as needed, with approval of employee timesheets relative to HDRtimekeeping policies & proceduresReview and answer questions as needed for employee expense reports relative toHDR travel & business expense policy & procedures#LI-LA1QualificationsRequired QualificationsAssociate degree in a closely related field (Business or Accounting) orcombination of education and relevant experience, Bachelor's degree preferredFamiliarity with Earned Va ue ManagementExcellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation,proofreading, spelling and telephone skillsFlexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks andcollaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environmentAbility to handle confidential informationProficiency with MS Office including Word and OutlookAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of ouremployee-owned culture is a mustOracle EBS experience a plusMust be self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented and able to workwell...
