　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　As a Registered Nurse (RN), on our Progressive Care Unit PCU you will support our 16-bed telemetry stepdown unit with a typical 1:4 patient ratio. Our unit provides high acuity level of care to a wide variety of GI Surgery, stroke, cardiac, neuro, telemetry, post-surgical, drip medications, chest pain, etc. While providing clinical and administrative support on the unit, you will work closely with the clinical team to create and implement a care plan that meets each patient’s needs. You will also coordinate unit activities and assure accountability of all assigned tasks.

　　What you will do in this role:

　　Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.

　　Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.

　　Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

　　Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.

　　Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

　　What qualifications you will need:

　　Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

　　Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

　　Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.

　　Basic Life Support (BLS).
