Job Description:The Program Supplier Quality Engineer (PSQE) will perform supplier facing quality engineering, in support of assigned Program(s). The PSQE will work across Hardware Management Teams, Supply Chain, Operations and Engineering activities to analyze, control, and improve product quality.
This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.This position requires moderate travel and is hybrid based and will support regional needs in Andover, MA. This position supports supplier related functions for the Naval Integrated Solution and Sustainment program.
Responsibilities include:
Be the primary point of contact for supplier quality strategy and related issues for their assigned program(s)
Assign quality requirements to purchased parts based upon internal command media and program requirements.
Analyze product performance using statistical methods to understand root cause and identify significant variances to the technical data packages
Perform analyses of nonconformities to identify root cause, establish effective containment and elimination plans, and develop/monitor corrective actions
Assure clear identification, physical control and competent disposition of nonconformities
Interpreting purchase order quality notes and quality requirements to ensure subcontractor/supplier understanding
Ensuring flow down of Product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers and ensuring compliance with quality requirements
Assessing subcontractor/supplier quality capabilities throughout the program life cycle to achieve full program objectives
Facilitate corrective actions, closed loop process controls and continuous improvement methods to improve product/process predictability and capability
Participate in Program Reviews, Supplier Reviews, and Technical Interchange Meetings
Participate in supplier design reviews, process change reviews, qualification test reviews, supplier audits as well as Test Equipment verification and validation
Coordinate / publish supplier defect metrics for Corrective Action Board
Assign quality requirements to purchased parts based upon internal command media and program requirements.
Participate in supplier audits.
Report their program(s) supplier quality monthly.
Issue and oversee SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests).
Travel expected < 25%.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance or Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)
Five (5) or more years of related Quality Engineering, manufacturing or related engineering experience
Experience in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action
Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9102, CMMI or Mission Assurance Provisions
Experience utilizing Lean/Six Sigma or other contemporary methodologies and tools for continuous improvement
Experience with Statistical Process Control methods, techniques, implementation, and review of data in order to drive process improvement
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
Six Sigma, ASQ Certifications
Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification (Internal candidates)
Experienced in working with suppliers
Proficient in the use of Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping
Experienced in Product/Process Failure Modes & Affects Analysis, Regression Analysis
Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis and Design of Experiments
Knowledge of Performance Specification and Requirements Management Practices
Engineering development experience
Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work well with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment
SAP and Tableau experience
APQP experience
GD&T experience

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
